Beneath the Sheets

 -
-
Twisted bodies writhe.
In pain, joy, ecstasy, grief?
I dared not know.
Two people dancing
In the nervous rhythm
Of their heartbeat,
Each one oblivious of
Dangers that lurks.

Exchanging muffled moans,
In pain, joy, ecstasy, grief?
I dared not know.
Two people singing
Silent songs of
Yearnings they won't
Let strangers know.
Each one chose to be
Ignorant of complex strings
they pulled a lifetime ago.

Bodies. Moans. Promises.
